Possibly. Depends if the weather agreed. The weather was a big part of the German campaign to defeat Russia in WW2. Because the Germans needed to solidify its oil production in the Balkans, the attack on Russia was six weeks later than scheduled. The winter was a huge factor in maintaining the logistics of this part of WW2. It should be noted here that in terms of its military strength, meaning superior armies, air force, artillery, tanks and generalship, the Germans were unmatched by Russia. I mention generalship because in the late 1930's, Stalin had many of his top military leaders executed for nonexistent treason.....
Despite the 6 week delay and the rough Russian winter, German forces reached within one mile of the gates of Moscow. A huge snow storm prevented a further advance. It must also be recognized that in that military era in Europe, capturing the enemy's capitol was tantamount to a total victory.
Now, of course, hindsight is 20-20. With that in mind the Germans could have easily defeated Russia if Germany had attacked Russia first, instead of attacking France. It must be remembered that the Western Allies, mainly France and England were not friends with Russia at all. They had approached Russia for a treaty, but Stalin chose instead to sign the all to infamous German-Soviet Non Aggression Pact. Stalin tried to buy time by signing as he knew that the Germans has a superior military machine.
By attacking Russia first, the Germans would have surprised Russia, seeing that they had a peace treaty with Germany.
The German military could have used a much larger force to really make it a no contest war against Russia. Russia had burned its bridges behind them by rejecting the Allies offer of a treaty and taking Hitler's offer instead. Therefore no help from France or England could be expected. Another reason no help could be expected was the fact that the West feared Soviet Communism. A German victory in Russia would have in fact pleased the West.
well yes because they would of been because tht would have been would be stronger and easier to knock down bombers.but it would have been even easier if they had lightsabers!
