This is a tough one. Go to the War Achives of that country and they will help you. The problem with this is, often the army in the country that captured an enemy such as your father could not either spell some names correctly or didn't have the time. This happened in Germany and one of my girlfriend's father (a reporter) whose name was King-Wittick probably was written down as "King." You can also go into "Google" and put in "Battle of the Bulge" and often they will have links to trace POW's. If not, contact the war dept. in your own State and they can lead you onto more informative information. Good luck Marcy No, there is not.

Who is fritz vincken?

You mean, who was Fritz Vincken. He died in Dec. 2008 in Kapalama, Oregon. He was a bakery owner in Honolulu, carrying on the tradition of his father. When he was a 12-year-old boy in 1944 in Germany, during the Battle of the Bulge, he witnessed several soldiers from both the German and American sides come together and have a peaceful Christmas dinner on the 24th of December. This happened at a home in the woods where he lived with his mother. The soldiers also slept the night peacefully in the home, before going out the next day to find their respective units and resume the battle again. An interview of Vincken is found in the third reference for more information.

How do you find living veterans of the Battle of the Bulge?

Yes, my uncle, Bert Allen , was in the Battle of the Bulge. Uncle Bert is 93 years old, his health is pretty good but his memory is not the best. There is a website called Friends_of_US_2nd_Infantry_Division_WWII. There are quite a few gentlemen still living that fought during the Battle of the Bulge. You can ask them anything and they are still as sharp as a tack. Some still take annual visits back to the Normandy beaches. My father fought with the Second Indianhead Division, that's how I stumbled on the site. It's great. I typed in that address but they said it was wrong and i didn't come up with anything
