How did the Committee on Public Information use art to convince Americans to support the war?

The real name for the Committee on Public Information should the department of Propaganda for domestic consumption. Governments hire Psychiatrists to motivate you so as to change your mind. So too do political parties, as well as special interest groups. Small details are managed. For example, the Republicans have a rule, never interview a Republican candidate against a dark background - because people do not trust someone if filmed that way. Always transition from bad to good, or low to high for yourself, and the other way for your opponent. The Army has men in basic training face other naked in the latrines in barracks because it had been found that this helps break someone down as an individual. The military wants men to be members of a group (the military) working together, and not as individuals each running their own way. If you are not in the military you need to be with the whole nation as one, and support the country. Hence you need to be cohesive as a nation. The 'other side' tries to break you down. Usually the goal is to have people create their own groups to do this. Al Quada, for example, creates hate based groups and they carry out the basic mission of destruction. What Al Quada wants is to destroy us. Fear is a weapon, and not an end to a means. If there is enough fear, then society becomes weak or can not function, such as when people panic in a fire. In the case of terroism the' fire' if you will, is that you will be unable to function at all - that is society breaks down or becomes weaker. Evil people are trying to destroy you. It is not personal as if that they know you. They do want to rule you (along with everyone else). Evil people think and are clever. We must be wiser.
