It supplied material and built up and trained its forces without committing the majority of its troops to combat. When the Allies were under severe pressure, General Pershing did commit some units to the front. He did however allow only what he considered the most expendable to fall under the command of foreign leadership. (To his immortal shame, segregated Black units were thrown into the trenches where they aquitted themselves well, while the bulk of his force remained in England to train. When the American Expeditionary Force (AEF) was finally inserted, they were almost un-stopable. One criteria marked their effort, they, moved forward, they broke through, and they were un-relenting.

After World War 2, the US had the strongest economy in the world.
Several ways. Confiscation of gold just before the war. The sale of War Bonds during the war. Inflation after the war. The US government paid for World War 2 by taking money from the economy of the surrounding states. This money was used to make supplies for the war.
They made no difference as to the results of the war. What CSA (Confederate States of America) Hunley did do; was make naval history, by sinking the first ship in a war with a sub.

The US did fight in World War 1, although not from the beginning. Same for World War 2. When both world wars began, they were seen as European squabbles, and there was a strong feeling that the US should make every effort to stay out of them.
