Man has a brain and a mouth. Those two devices is what separates him from animals (the non-thinking, non-speaking animals). The mouth and the brain cause man to settle his differences with his fellow man by a method which he terms as "political methods" which in use, is the actions of "diplomacy." Diplomacy is simply another word for "good manners", or "talking with someone, and being nice about it." When Diplomacy fails; man drops to his "animal instinct" level. Brain and speaking (communications) leaves; and the animal instinct of physical actions replace it. This is physical combat. Man has name for that too. It's called war.
