If you are asking about U.S. servicemembers, the answer is 58,209. Of these, 47,424 were combat related with the remaining 10,875 dying of other causes. This information came from American War and Military Operations Casualties: Lists and Statistics, a report completed by Hannah Fischer, Knowledge Resources Group, updated July 13, 2005. This report was compiled for the United States Congress.
