∙ 14y agoAlthough World War 2 started in 1939 the United States dis not enter it until December 7, 1941, when the Empire of Japan launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. The war ended in 1945 (Germany: May 7, 1945, Japan:August 15, 1945) So the USA was (technically) in the last four years of the war.
