The enormous response promoted him to arrange an increasing number and range of excursions to destinations in the British Isles, including seaside resorts, to give people a temporary escape from the drudgery of their daily lives. The interest of travelling grew in the first half of the twentieth century, particularly in the UK. Which cigarette brands were used by GI's in the Vietnam war?

All brands of cigarettes were available in Vietnam although, for some reason, menthol brands were sometimes in short supply. In the early part of the war C rations left over from WW2 were distributed to the troops. Included with the C rations was a package that would contain a variety of items, including cigarettes. I remember smoking Lucky Strikes that were manufactured before I was born. The familiar red circle was wartime green - I believe because the red dye was needed for other wartime uses.

Why do soldiers get paid so little?

Soldiers often receive relatively low pay due to a combination of budget constraints within military organizations and the prioritization of funding for equipment and technology over personnel salaries. Additionally, military compensation structures are influenced by factors such as rank, years of service, and benefits, which can lead to lower base salaries compared to civilian roles with similar skill sets. Despite this, many soldiers receive additional benefits, including healthcare, housing allowances, and education support, which can enhance their overall compensation package.
