The combination of the American Continental troops, led by George Washington, and the French Army troops, led by the Comte de Rochambeau, led to a victory over the British Army. It was the last major land battle of the American Revolution because when British General Charles Cornwallis surrended, the British government were forced to negotiate and end to the war.
