∙ 9y agoThe Pequot War nearly destroyed the Pequot tribe. Much of the tribe was slaughtered or sold into slavery and their land was taken from them. This was the first time the Native Americans witnessed warfare that sought to completely annihilate the enemy and for a long time they avoided war with the Europeans.

∙ 12y agoSome causes are that as colonists began to move more and more close to the Pequots, friction arose about unfair trading, selling alcohol, and destruction of crops. In 1636 when a colonist was killed by the P.'s, the governor called a militia and attacked the tribe.
Effects: The tribe was badly hurt and sold themselves to slavery in order to live.
