The USSR or the Soviet Union. -Not the Russian although it was the same people and they came from the same place.
No nation dropped an atomic weapon during the cold war. The cold war is not the same as World War 2. Two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan by the US at the end of World War 2. The cold war is called 'cold' because it was not an actual armed conflict. It was a period marked by a conflict of ideologies, propaganda and fear.
the cold war was between russia and the US and it was during the nuclear "age." both of the countries had nuclear weapons, and both countries were afraid what would happen, or if their country would be attacked. the cold war wasnt an actual violent war. (during mid-late 1900s.)
The US Congress passed laws limiting the activity of the Communist Party in the US, in reaction to Cold War tensions. The Cold War lasted from 1945 to 1991.
Nuclear weapons WERE the cold war. No Nukes, No Cold War.
The US tried to prevent South Vietnam from becoming a communist country by fighting the war. After Vietnam became united as one COMMUNIST VIETNAM country, the US delayed relationships with that nation until the end of the cold war. With the ending of the cold war, trade relationships exist between the US and Vietnam; not a big trade relationship, but an exchange of goods, none the less.
Russia.
The soviet union
The US didn't declare war on Russia. The "cold war" refers only to the hostility of each country towards eachother.
Up until the end of the cold war; any strategically friendly nation.
Soviet Union
An opponent.
The US was against communism. They went to "war" with the Soviet Union (the major communist country) and this was known as the Cold War.
Well, yes, we and the USSR were basically the only real country's in the war. However the cold war never really was a literal war. However the Korean War and the Vietnam War were effects of the Cold War, Also the Cuban Missile Crisis was as well.
From a US perspective, the Cold War resulted in our country having an insanely powerful military. Although there have not been any nuclear wars, it is now very possible.
It is generally accepted that the USSR lost the Cold War, not the US.
The Cold War involved the entire world; every country was an actual or potential enemy or friend of either the US or the USSR.
what do you mean the u.s never had a cold war with itself
