German vets feel the only defeat there had been in their being part of WWII had been that the world as it is today has not yet learned thru "the the history of WWII", but a powerful few rather misused the pre war conditions for indiviual profit in one shape or form.

Other than that... the Regiments of the Wehrmacht in this time frame DID EXACTLY AS any regiment of Armed Forces would do today: ergo "Obey military orders".

History Books are "composed and written" by those whom win an argument, it doesnt necessarily mean that it incorperates the "wholesided truth" when written. WWII lives were lost out of many different reasons.

WWII will have forfilled its purpose when the approx. 60 Million people (whom consisted of all nations/creeds, and (not just one particular one like mostly discribed) whom left their lives on a battlefield or elsewhere maybe because of...

  • a military order to do so - ergo: paycheck (most soldiers of all the concerned)
  • a denomination (Jews etc.)
  • an opposition to the war (many Germans - one of them being my grandfather whom died at the young age of 29 and that for simply saying "no").

find peace in terms of the surviving generations not allowing a political leader to dictate the mass consciousness of its countrymens standards.

That is what a German Vet thinks.

He can not apologise for something he was "ordered" to do, just as a US Soldier can not apologise for killing all the people in Iran/Irak for he was ordered to do so. The only difference is in WWII, if you disregarded your orders you were shot in the head on the spot, and now a days one goes to "jail" for disobeying orders. (theres a big difference).. If you lived in 1933 -1945 you as a German and your entire family were very much concerned about "simply staying alive" to see the next morning.

Just as the surviving younger generations have absolutely NOTHING to do with WWII. Yet are still castised as being "nazi`s" by people, for simply being born in Germany. This shows very little consciousness level on the part of the person saying it. My grandfather said no, as I noted before and died because of his own retaliation.

But whom cares about the fact that he left a young wife and a 5 year old baby, whom was my mother? Do I, as further generation get acquitted for this loss? No I don`t but my taxmoney in Germany still gets sent to the generations such as Jewish compensation.

Why I ask - I lost just as much as they did!

So the message from my grandfather Helmut Pliquett would be:

"Children of the future "let us all not have died in vain", do not allow your government to manipulate your countrymen, do not allow them to start wars in foreign countries, make them work hard for you as your leader or else your soul will be just as gulity for the crimes they make acting upfront in your behalf. It is better that that leader be abolished, rather than the bloodline of hundred thousands for the sake of ego!"

So I as his discendent send love to you, I send you love from a German family. I send it to all nations!
