The Japanese Navy attacked the Midway Island atoll at about 9 P M on sunday December , 8 , 1941and shelled it continually all night until about 5 AM . About that time the Dutch East Indies fleet intercepted the Japanese fleet. Two of the Japanese ships were preparing to dock and take over the Island with an Admiral and a General, They were both sunk off shore and a naval battle ensued until the Japanese fleet was on the run. My question is how many people were killed on midway that night and how many were wounded ? I was there and got hit in the leg with a piece of shrapnel
