During rationing, people typically received limited quantities of essential goods, including food items like sugar, meat, dairy, and fats, as well as non-food items like clothing and fuel. Ration cards were issued, allowing individuals to purchase a set amount of these items to ensure equitable distribution and prevent shortages. Substitutes and alternative products were often used, and communities adapted recipes to make the most of available resources. Overall, rationing aimed to ensure that everyone had access to basic necessities during times of scarcity.
In WWI rationing food was a very big deal in America. President Wilson put Herbert Hoover in charge of the USA. Food Administration in order to convince Americans to conserve food. People then began planting victory gardens so that they would be rationing but not starving or killing of the population.
They usually took objects like diaries, photos of their wife, kids and family, cigarettes, Swiss-knife, chains, lockets all those kind of things that will remind them of their family and loved ones. Sometimes the would carry around an odd lyrics of poems and such to keep themselves entertained. They would bring along dice and cards and play games during free time. Hope this has helped :)

Not so good in this stuff but I'm sure it would be high tariffs or taxes on the opposing nations goods and low taxes on goods made in the same nation..?

Some people really like to do that kind of things. I myself have many fetishes. You do what you want, ok?
Ration stamps controlled the amount of food and supplies people could have so they wouldn't run out because food and supplies were also being sent to the soldiers in WWII. So rationing was just used to make sure the soldiers and civilians all had enough! :)

During World War I, rationing was reduced simply because of the shortages of foodstuffs and other economic items caused by the war-effort. On both sides of the conflict, the naval and land (and even air) dimensions of the war caused normal importation and/or production of everyday items either to stop altogether or to be severely diminished, thereby causing shortages of one kind or another.

actually the correct punctuation for it is things so therefor you have asked mistaken question but if your question was what kind of things are in the forest then your answer would be animals, plants, abiotic and biotic factors.
You don't say what kind of things but if they're light things like paper or hair, it would be static electricity.
