The people that were involved in the cold war was the Soviet Union, Communist world, and the non-communist world (The US and the USSR)

It should be obvious that Russia is called Russia today; and not the USSR.
Based on weapons stockpiles, there was mutually assured destruction if the two superpowers went to war
I think you are getting it back the front. After World War Two there were two major world powers - the USA and the Soviet Union. Both had been very distrustful of each other before the war, but were allies during the war due to a common enemy. In the post war era both sides went back to their mutual mistrust. Since the war had changed the balance of power in the world, both sides feared the other side, thinking they would try to expand their influence and possibly overthrow them. This led to the cold war. So the presence of two superpowers led to the cold war, not the cold war leading to two superpowers.... in fact the cold war finally led to the collapse of one of the superpowers (USSR)
Firstly, they weren't countries they were 2 "Superpowers" of The USA (America) and The USSR (Russia), the war is considered "Cold" due to the fact that there was no actual fighting involved between the two, merely wars that they meddled with, Korea and Vietnam being prime examples.
The Soviet Unioon and the United States.
They emerged as the two superpowers. They both were very strong and showed their strength in World War 2. The power of these two superpowers led to the Cold War.

The United States and The USSR (Soviet Union now Russia)
The main countries involved in the Cold War were the United States and the Soviet Union. The key political ideas were capitalism, promoted by the U.S., and communism, promoted by the Soviet Union. This ideological conflict resulted in global tension and competition between the two superpowers.

No, the Cold War was a geopolitical conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union that lasted from the end of World War II in 1945 until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. While the space race was a prominent aspect of the Cold War, the rivalry also involved political, military, and economic competition between the two superpowers.
