Francisco Franco's guiding principles were largely rooted in authoritarianism, nationalism, and Catholic conservatism. He sought to establish a unified Spain free from regional autonomy and leftist influences, promoting a centralized state. Franco's regime emphasized traditional values, suppressing dissent and promoting a vision of a "Spanish Empire" that aligned with his fascist sympathies. His governance was characterized by repression, censorship, and the prioritization of military and political loyalty.
Francisco Franco used terror as a key tool to maintain control over his regime in Spain through systematic repression, censorship, and violence against dissenters. His government employed state-sponsored terror tactics, including executions, imprisonments, and forced labor, targeting political opponents, intellectuals, and any groups perceived as threats. The regime's security forces, such as the Guardia Civil, enforced this climate of fear, ensuring that any opposition was swiftly and brutally suppressed. This strategy not only stifled political dissent but also instilled a pervasive atmosphere of fear among the population, reinforcing Franco's authoritarian rule.

In Spain (1936-1939). Indeed that happened before the the breakout of the World War 2 (1939-1945). I would like to improve my answer as follows: During the civil war in Spain there were not only "fascist forces" which fought against the Republic. As statement of fact the opposing forces were built up by a coalition of following political parties: The "Falangist party", which can be considered a fascist party. The Nationalist party, The Catholic party, The Monarchist party. This coalition was led by the majority of the Armed Forces commanded by generals Emilio Mola and Francisco Franco. After the death of general Mola, Francisco Franco became the Commander in Chief of the Army and the coalition's leader.
