During World War II, Crewe, a town in Cheshire, England, experienced bombings primarily due to its significance as a railway hub and industrial center. The most notable bombing occurred in 1940 when the town was targeted by German Luftwaffe attacks, resulting in damage to several properties and infrastructure. While the bombings did not cause extensive destruction, they did impact the local community and led to casualties. Residents also faced the threat of air raids throughout the war.

because crewe had a Rolls Royce factory at the time (it is now Bentley) which they used to make weapons, also crewe is a railway town and is one of the only main ones ever made, this was used to move weapons throughout the country, fixed trains etc. I think there was an RAF training camp where a school is now built as well which is what Hitler would of gone for. hope this is a good enough answer for you :)
