The diet in world war I was very poor.

The soldiers ate rice, biscuits, potatoes and red meat.

They were given things like corned beef and tuna in there rations.

This was a very bad way of living, the soldiers did not get any vitamin C because they didn't have fruit, this caused the disease of "Scurvy."
