Japanese-Americans have always been a valuable part of any American war effort. During World War 1, they served as part of the All Japanese Company D unit, First Hawaiian Regiment of Infantry. Japanese Americans were a large portion of Hawaii's population during the time, and stepped forward to enlist willingly. They hoped their enlistment would lead to them gaining American citizenship. Sadly, this did not happen.

During the first part of 1945 Korea was occupied by Japanese forces. The Soviet Union took power from the Japanese however and finally American forces got involved.

The Northern Territory has no documented major national or in-house battles. The only recorded battles were in the Second World War when Japanese fighters and bombers attacked Darwin. The first of these attacks was on 19 February 1942, and this was just the beginning of an estimated 64 Japanese air raids on Darwin that occurred in 1942-43. The last of these was on 12 November 1943.
