The Ministry of Information was the department of the British and Nazi government that solely focused on giving the public what information they wanted to see. For example the British government tried to hide the truth of the war from the British people by using Propaganda and censorship. Censorship was basically restricting what the public saw. Like telling the media newspapers mainly) to only publish what THEY wanted us to know. And cut secret sections of letters and telegrams. Propaganda was the advertising section of the Ministry of Information. They tried to advertise and give advise to the public using posters, films, wireless (radio) or speech's Things like Kitchen Front which was a popular radio ad that focused on giving mothers and the 'cooks' of the family new recipes for getting the most out of there rations. The Ministry of Information was not the only ministry as during the war another ministry was created specifically for the war. The Ministry of war. They had the main priority if they wanted something they had more authority over the other Ministries.
