∙ 11y agoDecember 11, 1941 the US declared war on Germany and Italy (both allies of Japan). Germany had declared war on the US to support it's ally, Japan. The US had already declared war on Japan on December 8, 1941 in response to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the day before.
