When they got back from the crusades.

IF they got back from the crusades.

Knights were landed gentry of the dark ages who were rewarded for their service to the king by land. That land contained villains (commoners) who were tithed (servents of) to the knight of the manor. The villains worked on the land for the knight and the sale of the crops made the Knight money.

Also during times of war they were allowed by the king to take bounty from the victories that they were instrumental in.

What group lost the most power as a result of the hundred years war?

The Nobles and knights - the knights counted too, because if the nobles lost power they would too; the nobles were the ones who paid them, and the nobles were getting powerless, so that was the same for the knights. if the commoners didnt get paid to go to war then it would be a different story. Hope that makes any sense. O(^__^)O
