A shortage can occur when demand for a product or service exceeds its supply, often due to factors like natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, or sudden increases in consumer demand. This imbalance can lead to rationing, where resources are distributed in limited quantities to ensure equitable access among consumers. Rationing can also be implemented by governments during crises to prevent hoarding and ensure that essential goods remain available for all.
Black market
Total war means that everyone in the nation is fully involved in the war. Also that everyone has to sacrifice something for the war. An example for that is rationing, because everyone had to eat less food in order to be able to ship stuff overseas.
Rationing didn't start until the end of WW1, whereas in WW2 it started almost immediately. The amounts of food rationed were different. In WW2 clothing was rationed. In WW1 the poor civilians were happy with rationing as, paradoxically, they had access to more food and a better lifestyle. However the rich people were not so happy with it and attempted to get more food from the black market. There was a thriving black market during both wars.
It was the landing of British & American forces in French North Africa. It would lead to the Invasion of Italy. As Churchill described it the soft underbelly of Europe.
lead is helpful because of its density.
A price ceiling will undermine the rationing function of market-determined prices by creating a shortage. This is a price which is below equilibrium which will lead to more demand that supply that will cause a shortage.

Illness. Like a shortage of potassium (potassium is found in bananas) can be fatal whilst eating too many fatty foods can lead to diabetes or heart attacks.
If the water demand is greater than the water supply, it can lead to water shortages, which may result in rationing, depletion of water sources, and environmental damage. It can also impact agriculture, industry, and overall societal well-being. Implementing water conservation measures and increasing water efficiency can help mitigate these issues.

When demand for water exceeds supply in an area, it can lead to water scarcity. This can result in water rationing, conflicts over water resources, and impact the ecosystem.
