Arthur Seyss-Inquart was a Czechoslovak born member of the Nazi Party. Seyss-Inquart contributed to the political intrigue and downfall of the Dollfuss and Schussnigg governments in Austria; he was also vital concerning the annexation of Austria into greater Germany. When he was appointed Reichskommissar (commissioner) of the Netherlands he actively participated in the persecution of the Jews by mass deportations, mass arrests and execution of hostages - directly violating the Hague convention. He was arrested, tried and hung at Nuremberg.
