because at 1940 both conteirs only showed the civilans the good side of what was happeningm they both wanted support by the civilans to carry on the war. they also used all ways of propagandah to make them belive WAR is good. this all changed, as time goes by they found the truth and whan war was over they told the people (civilans) what was going on. that is because they did not need to bust them or perswade them any longer.

Why were the British in Dunkirk?

Dunkirk helped get about half a million allied soldiers to safety and off Dunkirk beach. These soldiers were prisoners, and these could then help in the war on land.Let's explain what Dunkirk was first. Dunkirk is a port town in France on the English Channel. After France and Great Britain went to war with Germany they were great defeated by Germanies Bltizkreig or Lightning war. They were pushed back to Dunkirk and forced to retreat back to England. Thousands of British and some French troops crossed the Channel on Civilian and Military warships. This retreat/battle was important beacause it meant Germany had complete control over Europe until they invaded Russia in 1941. After Dunkirk Germany started Operation Sealion (The invasion of England). So it was not so important for the United Kingdom but Germany since the United Kingdom really just lost thousands of men and was forced from direct land combat. Hope this helped.

What is Dunkirk in World War 2?

Beginning of Summer 1940. It helped evacuate about a half a million allied soldiers who would otherwise have become POW's. These soldiers could subsequently contribute to the allied landing later in the war.Although Dunkirk can only be seen as a defeat of the British & French in France in 1940 the fact that over 330, 000 returned to Britain in the litte ships was an amazing escape. They had to leave all their equipment behind, of course, but it was a morale boost to think these men were not captured en masse by the German attackers. Op Dynamo, while not a victory showed the Blitzkreig could be countered. It would be a long time before the Allies were able to reply, at least in France in a meaningful way, but I guess many who left Dunkirk would reurn 4 years later in Overlord (Normandy).
