VE day is the day that the German troops formally surrendered to all of the Allied forces in World War Two. VE Day is short for Victory in Europe, since victory in Japan had not yet been achieved.

VE Day was the day of Victory in Europe, from which the initials VE come. It was the end of World War 2 in Europe. The war with Japan continued for some months longer.
