The Dahlberg Dry Rocker

I am building some dry rockers for gold. It is manually operated and is a gravity separation device. It is 2 feet in diameter and 11 inches wide. It consists of a grizzly a trough and a nugget trap. It has a 1/4 inch mesh screen. It has a handle and may be operated with one hand. The dry rocker is suspended on two 3/4 inch sealed ball bearings. 4 legs hold it up off the ground. It is easy to use and is easily emptied of concentrate when the operator is ready to check it for gold.

I designed the Dahlberg dry rocker about 8 years ago and have made some improvements on it since making the first model. I used it in Arizona in the Winter and really like to use it because it is quiet and produces less dust than most dry washers. A couple of times I checked the dry rocker just to see if I was losing any gold and I reran some of the material that I had previously ran through the dry rocker and did not find any gold the second time. I also tried running 50 steel shot through the dry rocker and recovered all 50 of them. I felt that that was a good test because gold is much denser than steel shot.
