i'm doing this right now. i have aluminum gutters and i just put in the 1st vinyl downspout. since the hole from the old downspout was 3 inch i had to cut the hole larger for the new 4 inch downspout. it worked!! looks good. attached to my screen room. seal with gutter sealer and use the self drill screws so it won't come apart. good luck.
