I used to work in a competitive shop where if you knew things the other guys didn't it was job security. They were constantly breaking band saw blades. Mine never broke. The blades have to be annealed after welding then again after grinding. That's the whole trick right there. Set the welder for anneal then push the anneal button until the instant it turns red, then push the button in and out several times to allow the blade to cool slower.
