Super-glue, also called cyanoacrylate or "CA" adhesive. Clear polycarbonate may become foggy (also called "crazed"), though. If you don't want this to happen, check at your local hobby store or on-line retailer for "user-friendly/odorless" ("UFO") CA.
ANS 2 -I build rockets too. I don't find Super glue suitable for fins. I glue mine on with a thin layer of epoxy, then a thin edging after the first layer is dry.
The body may get wrecked, but my fins are always intact -LOL
The best glue for polycarbonate material is a solvent-based adhesive specifically designed for bonding plastics, such as cyanoacrylate (super glue) or a two-part epoxy adhesive. These types of adhesives provide strong and durable bonds for polycarbonate materials.
With a polycarbonate glue. Try Weld On # 3 or #16.
Yes it will.
A polycarbonate glue like IPS Weld-On #4 .-Available from stores that sell plastics and fibreglass.
easy! get some balsa wood and a modeling knife!and cut out a simple shape!balsa wood is ok because it is light in weight, however, if your rocket has a crash landing the fins will not likely survive. I suggest something a bit more sturdy. on some rockets i have used chucks of CDs as fin material (they're harder to snap than you would think) i would also suggest arrow glue ( like the glue for archery arrows) as an adhesive for fins shape? i would check out this web site. the fin designs are not difficult to create and the shape is backed up by the Reynolds number don't know if you know any thing about that http://www.apogeerockets.com/technical_publication_16.asp.best of luck! :]
It could be something like Methyl Ketone, but both PVC and Polycarbonate have good adhesives, so what's the point.
The best polycarbonate adhesive for bonding plastic materials is a cyanoacrylate adhesive, also known as super glue.
They all come with very detailed instructions, follow them carefully. Most important is gluing the fins absolutely parallel to the body. Also use a light glue like crazy glue, rather than white glue.
A good glue you can use for soft plastic which is a flexible material is Gorilla Glue.
you have to glue bits and pieces together ;-)

An engine, some metal, bolts, a "crossaint", a blow torch, spray paint, 400 puonds of this, 400 pounds of that, glue, HOT glue and googly eyes. Nah, I'm jut messin' with ya, but you need metal, an engine, bolts, hot glue, and maybe a blow torch?? (It depends on the amount of material you have.)
