The bomb hit the room that held all the ammunition.
It was actually the lower yield MK-I Little boy bomb dropped on Hiroshima that did more damage. The higher yield MK-III Fatman bomb was accidentally dropped much further from its target (almost 2 miles away) and the blast wave was contained by the surrounding hills.
Stopped expansion of Japan in WW2. Ironically, we dropped the A bomb and killed many to save much more.
The Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima in World War II, weighed around 65,000 pounds (29,500 kilograms) when it dropped the bomb.
pretty much, yeah
The atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 caused an estimated immediate death toll of around 140,000 people. The long-term effects of radiation exposure led to increased casualties in the years following the bombing.
it can do beyound our imagination.
A nuclear bomb has never been dropped. It was an atomic bomb that was dropped on the Japanese cities Hiroshima ans Nagasaki. An atomic bomb is a nuclear weapon. Nuclear bombs have much more impact than atomic bombs, and could potentially end the World if a nuclear war was started.
The atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki caused extensive devastation, killing an estimated 40,000-75,000 people and injuring many more. The city's infrastructure and buildings were severely damaged, with widespread fires and radioactive fallout further compounding the destruction.
The first bomb that was dropped for war purposes was a uranium bomb code named "Little Boy" that was dropped on Aug. 6, 1945 on Hiroshima and the second was code named "Fat Man" and it was a plutonium bomb dropped on Aug. 9, 1945 on Nagasaki. The was ended only 1 day after the second bomb was dropped. The bombs caused Japan to surrender. Both a-bombs (atomic bombs) caused about 128,000 people to die and over 120, 000 people suffered from radiation sickness and cancer. So much suffering led many of them to die shortly after.
It was mostly a combination of bombs and torpedos. A good example of a bomb sinking a ship was the USS Arizona. A bomb was dropped and when it hit her it penetrated the deck went into the ships magazine (place where munitons are stored) and went off with such a force that it nearly cut the ship in two. She was however hit by at least two torpedos as well. The Japanese torpedos were retrofit with a special enhancement to their fins that kept them from diving too deeply when dropped as the harbor was barely deep enough to allow the passage of ships. These inflicted much damage. I would say from what I know of Pearl Harbor, most of the damage was caused by torpedos and the second runner up is bombs.
It cost $20,000,000,000 to build the 4,680 bombs in 1945. Two of them were the ones dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Atom bomb should not have been dropped. it was still a prototype and had seemed like a good way to end world war 2 . It worked but at a great cost and much suffering
