I assume it has carb's. If so, follow the cable to the carb's. There is a little screw you can tighten to increase the idle or lower it. Just a long screwdriver and watch the tach.

Idle on a 1985 Honda Civic is adjusted through a idle air control valve. This valve is located near the intake. Adjust the valve by either loosen or tightening it.

It has electronic ignition. No points to adjust. 1985 Honda XR100R does have points and a condenser, just bought one today, and the gap is between12 and 14 thousandths

I have a 1986 Honda VT700 Shadow and it uses 10W 40 for most temperature climates. I would think that an '85 would take the same. Hope this helps

There are six Fuses for 1985 Honda Shadow : The main fuse (fusible link) is located above the voltage regulator/rectifier The cooling fan has an in line fuse and the remaining four fuses are located in the fuse panel between the speedometer and the tachometer.
Remove the switch by boring out the rivets holding it in place. The cylinder will come out easily once you get the lock free from its casing.
