To adjust the carburetors on a 1984 Yamaha Virago XV1000, start by ensuring the bike is at operating temperature. Use a synchronized tool to check the balance between the two carburetors, adjusting the idle mixture screws to achieve the desired RPM and smooth idle. Fine-tune the idle speed using the throttle stop screws, and ensure the air-fuel mixture is appropriate by performing a plug reading after test rides. Always refer to the service manual for specific settings and procedures.
