To change the oil on a 2001 Harley-Davidson Road King, first, warm up the engine slightly to thin the oil for easier draining, then turn it off and let it cool for a few minutes. Place an oil drain pan under the bike, remove the oil drain plug, and allow the old oil to drain completely. Replace the drain plug, then remove the old oil filter using an oil filter wrench, lubricate the rubber gasket of the new filter with a bit of oil, and install it. Finally, pour the new oil into the engine through the fill cap, checking the dipstick to ensure the correct level, and dispose of the used oil and filter properly.
4 1/2 quarts of oil is used in the 98 road king
4 quarts
no...but you can use screaming eagle synthetic oil in both the motor and the transmission which is supposed to be better anyways
14 - 21 ft lb or 19-28.5 Nm
I found the easiest and cleanest way to change the oil is with a small hand pump and drain it out thru the fill tube. After the case is empty then remove the oil filter.
Place a drip pan beneath the crank case of your 1999 Road King motorcycle. Remove the crank case plug. Allow the oil to completely drained out. Replace the plug to its original position. Fill the motor with oil.
The 1997 Harley Davidson Road King holds 4 quarts of oil if the filter is changed at the same time as the oil change. The bike itself will hold 3.5 quarts without a new filter.
Oil capacity for the 95 road king is 4 quarts
A 2001 Intrepid does not have an oil change light.
check under the transmission. there should be 2 drain plugs almost side by side. 1 is the engine oil and the other is transmission oil.
Pull the drain plug at the bottom of the oil tank under the tranny, refill on the right side filler plug.
