To change the spark plug on a Suzuki ATV, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to remove the old spark plug by turning it counterclockwise. Inspect the new spark plug for proper gap settings, then install it by hand to avoid cross-threading, followed by tightening it with the socket. Finally, reconnect the spark plug wire and ensure everything is secure before starting the ATV.
The spark plug on a Suzuki King Quad 700 ATV is located on the engine's cylinder head. To access it, you typically need to remove the plastic cover on the left side of the ATV. Once the cover is removed, you'll see the spark plug wire leading to the spark plug, which is situated near the front of the engine. Make sure to use the appropriate tools to safely remove and replace the spark plug.
The LT500R used a NGK BR8ES stock, I ran a BR9ES which was a little cooler plug. To change the coolant there is a plug on the bottom of the water pump assembly, remove with and 10mm socket and fluid will drain. Take the rad cap off when draining and simply replace the drain plug and refill.
I am not 100% certain, and I am no mechanic; However, I have always used 0.028" on my 1996 Suzuki King Quads with no problems.
The spark plug gap for this kind of ATV is .035.
Look for arcing from the plug wire, if the wire is bad the spark will jump to the easiest path to ground, skippjing the plug completely.
it could be a bad spark plug wire or the plug could be gapped to much
.028
First take your seat off. then take your side panel off, find your spark plug wire to the spark plug, pull up until it comes off, make sure you are pulling on the boot and not the wire. then use your spark plug wrench that came with the ATV, it will fit right down in there. make sure its all the way down and turn to your left. Place the new plug the same way.
it sounds kinda like a stator problem or spark plug or cdi box
spark gap is 0.28mm.
