An additional service manual and wiring schematic for an A1990 Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle can be found on eBay as well as at specialty motorcycle dealerships.
To set the timing on a 1990 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder one. Then, align the timing marks on the ignition rotor and the case, adjusting the ignition timing if necessary using the timing adjustment screw. Finally, check the timing with a timing light while the engine is running to ensure it’s within the specified range. Always refer to the service manual for specific timing specifications and adjustments.
I have not took my zx6 to extreme yet but i took it up to 160 and lost my helmet LOL but it was still willing to have more throttle power and also felt like it was capable of getting to the 220 mark.
Most motorcycle ignitions have whats called a "shear bolt" I think, they're designed to "shear" off the hex portion of the bolt when installing the ignition. This prevents theft. Usually to remove the cone type bolt the best way it to use a steal center punch and hit the head of the bolt to turn it counter-clockwise to loosen it. If it is too tight to loosen this way unfortunately the only other option I know of it to drill the bolt out. Good Luck. MotoMedix Ottawa.
