To replace a Yamaha two-stroke oil injection pump, first, disconnect the battery and remove any covers obstructing access to the pump. Disconnect the oil lines and electrical connectors from the old pump, then unbolt and remove it from the engine. Install the new pump by securing it in place, reconnecting the oil lines and electrical connectors, and finally, prime the system to ensure proper oil delivery before starting the engine. Always refer to the specific service manual for your model for detailed instructions.

Start the engine and allow it to warm up, then check the oil pump's adjustment by observing the oil line leading to the carburetor. Adjust the oil pump's adjustment screw to achieve the desired oil flow rate, usually indicated in the service manual. Finally, test the system by revving the engine and ensuring that oil is being delivered appropriately without any leaks.

To set the timing for a 4HF1 injection pump, first ensure that the engine is at TDC (Top Dead Center) of the compression stroke for cylinder one. Next, remove the injection pump's timing cover and align the timing mark on the pump with the corresponding mark on the engine. Adjust the pump’s position as necessary to achieve the correct alignment, and then securely fasten the pump. Finally, double-check the timing before reassembling any components.
