A four stroke engine has four cycles. Intake cycle, compression cycle, power cycle, and exhaust cycle. Each corresponds to one full stroke of the piston; therefore, the complete cycle requires two revolutions of the crankshaft to complete.
Here is a brief explanation on how it works.
The intake valve opens, the piston moves downward and fuel and air is sucked into the cylinder
The Intake valve closes and the piston moves upward, compressing the fuel and air mixture.
A spark plug ignites the fuel/air mixture and the piston is forced downwards.
The piston moves upward and the exhaust valve opens, letting the fumes out of the cylinder.
Explain the advantages of four-stroke engine over two-stroke engine
in my opinion a two stroke engine is a better quality engine as compared to a four stroke engine!
two stroke
Four stroke engines are quieter than two strokes, but have less power.
compare the two stroke and four stroke engine in power output and thermal efficiency?
In a four-stroke engine its called the compression stroke
The four-stroke engine produces 1 power stroke for every 720 degrees of crankshaft rotation.
The four strokes of a four-stroke engine are the intake, compression, power, and exhaust strokes. During the intake stroke, the engine draws in air and fuel. The compression stroke then compresses this mixture, followed by the power stroke, where the spark plug ignites the mixture, generating power. Finally, in the exhaust stroke, the engine expels the burnt gases from the combustion process.
You can use four stroke oil for a (very) limited period in a two stroke engine in an emergency. However it is not formulated for two stroke engines and is not recommended.
No it isn't fatal, but it would smoke quite a bit, because a two stroke engine needs two stroke oil mixed in the petrol, and a four stroke just needs petrol.
four stroke.
A two stroke engine combines the four strokes of a typical internal combustion engine into two strokes instead of four.
