The double gas tank on a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy allows for increased fuel capacity and longer riding range. It consists of a primary tank and a secondary tank that are interconnected, enabling fuel to flow from one to the other. This design not only enhances the motorcycle's aesthetic appeal but also helps maintain a balanced weight distribution. Riders can enjoy extended journeys without frequent refueling stops.
Both Fat Boy and Super Glide motorcycles are Harley Davidson motorcycles. A 2002 Fat Boy gas tank will fit on your 2012 Super Glide motorcycle. You can find these parts at authorized Harley Davidson dealers.

On a 1999 Harley Fat Boy, the fuel reserve tank is not a separate tank but rather a feature of the main fuel tank. The main tank typically holds about 5 gallons of fuel, and when the fuel level drops to a certain point, you can switch to reserve by turning the petcock valve, if equipped, or simply monitoring the fuel gauge. However, many modern Harley models, including the Fat Boy, do not have a manual reserve setting and rely on the fuel gauge for indication. Always keep an eye on the fuel level to avoid running out of gas.
Not without making some tank mounts and a little ingenuity. Also it MUST be a carb tank and not an FI tank. A fule injected tank will not work. There is a tank made for sporsters that fit right and give it the big twin look with dash, commonly refered to as quick bob tank. You are looking at about $500 dollars to convert it yourself. More for a mechanic to do it.

A Fat Bob doesn't have a reserve capacity. The way the tank works is the fill side is the cap on the right and the cap on the left is actually the housing for the fuel gauge, it has no access to the tank. There is a quick disconnect fuel fitting on the left underside. At the bottom front you will see a fuel line that crosses under the frame and reconnects to the tank. This is so fuel will flow evenly to both sides.
Little Boy was employed at Hiroshima and Fat Man at Nagasaki.
