I would guess you either have a faulty solenoid or you have the positive connected to the wrong side of it. the wiring for the lights and other accessories is usually connected to one side of the solenoid
.Likely your bike sat in storage and the battery went bad or, you put off buying a battery and keep nursing it along. . Then u tried to start it with a weak or bad battery. The start relay gets lazy and sticks due to the weak voltage. So, when you try and connect the battery, the engine cranks by itself. The bike will crank even with the key in your pocket. This is an expensive repair as likely the relay, starter are both fried. There is an update kit from BMW moving the relay out in the open for the next time it happens. Best to use a small float charger like a battery tender to prevent his from happining again.
The negative terminal of a battery has a - sign and positive terminal has a + sign.
The com is your common terminal also the negative terminal where the black probe is pluged in. normally used on meter with 3 or more connectors and only the red probe change position
Look for a + by the positive terminal and a - by the negative terminal, or red for positive, black for negative. Some batteries have the positive terminal protruding and the negative terminal flat. Or you can get a meter that will tell you which is which,
Electrons have a negative charge. For that reason, electrons will always flow in the opposite direction of the current, which flows from positive to negative. Electrons will therefore move from a negative terminal to a positive terminal when we look at the load on a cell. Within the cell, the electrons will flow from the positive terminal to the negative terminal.
The negative terminal does not go to the starter on a negative ground system. The negative terminal goes to ground.
wires are crossed or you have a short in the wiring from the alternator to the battery.
The electrode connected to the negative terminal of a cell is called the cathode.
When connecting the negative terminal of a battery, a spark may occur due to the sudden flow of electrons from the negative terminal to the positive terminal, creating a brief electrical discharge.
yes the negative terminal is the ground. also it is the black lead that goes to it
Energy flows from the negative terminal to the positive terminal of a battery.
The battery should be in the hatch compartment (behind the rear seats), under the floor mat. Disconnect the negative terminal (black), then the positive terminal (red). Remove the battery, and install the new one in the same position. Reconnect the positive terminal, then the negative terminal. NOTE: The terminals are also designated by plus or minus symbols.
Two. The positive terminal, and the negative.
