2004 polaris sportsman 400 has new starter, battery and selenoid but still won't start what else can it be
Yes, should be one on the right of the quad
You may have a dirty fuel filter.
The alternator, or stator, is behind the pull-start cover on the right side of the engine.
I had the same issue. I pulled the carb out and cleaned it. It was full of sludge from the gas. I had to clean it 3 times before I could get it to start.
coil is bad.replace it It's a typical problem with a Polaris. They sold their ATVs with known defective CDI controllers. On a Sportsman 600 it's a Ducati part #4010785. It's located under the access panel under the front rack. Look at other forums. It's a VERY COMMON problem with many Polaris ATVs and they won't do a recall. DON'T BUY A POLARIS. I'm sorry that I did.
Sounds like a dead battery. Try charging the battery, then start.

If your 1996 Polaris Sportsman 500 is backfiring during startup but not starting, it could indicate a few issues. Common causes include problems with the fuel system, such as a clogged fuel filter or a malfunctioning fuel pump, which can prevent adequate fuel flow. Additionally, ignition issues like a faulty spark plug or ignition coil may also lead to backfiring. It's advisable to check these components and ensure the air-fuel mixture is correct for proper engine function.
Polaris oil tanks hold around 2 qts of oil . Put in a qt and a half , start the engine to fill the filter . Let it sit a few minutes and check the oil , add if needed .
polaris 250 wont start
To set the time on an 08 Polaris Sportsman, start by turning on the ignition without starting the engine. Press and hold the "Mode" button until the clock display appears. Use the "Up" and "Down" buttons to adjust the hours and minutes, then press "Mode" again to confirm each setting. Once you have set the correct time, simply turn off the ignition to save your changes.
