use a ruller or level and set it across the top of the forks i would probally put the front tire on first
I had the same problem. The problem is caused by a ball that keeps the 2 forks locked in their respective position. I took the transfer case apart and found this problem. You can unlock the forks by using a screwdriver in 1 of the slots of just one of the forks and forcing it to unlock, it will take some force to do this, but is easier than taking apart the transfer case.
Shift rails and shift forks are crucial components in a vehicle's transmission system. Shift rails guide the movement of the shift forks, which engage and disengage the gears within the transmission. When the driver shifts gears, the shift rail moves, causing the corresponding shift fork to slide into position, locking the selected gear in place. This mechanism ensures smooth gear transitions and efficient power transfer from the engine to the wheels.
Shift pattern from neutral is 1 down, 5 up.
You will be unable to shift gears
The Shift Solenoid is located on the gear shift selector housing. Hope This Helps. Mike
the gear shift might just go inside the tranny and shift the gears internally.

The transmission forks are possibly bent or worn. If the forks are giving a problem then the transmission will have to be rebuilt or replaced.

If your Suzuki RM125 is slipping out of third gear, it could be due to worn or damaged shift forks, a worn gear selector mechanism, or issues with the transmission itself. Additionally, insufficient lubrication or old oil can contribute to this problem by causing increased friction and wear. It's advisable to inspect the transmission components and consider a rebuild or replacement if necessary. Regular maintenance can help prevent such issues in the future.
