The most common problems are going to be oil related. Generally, users abuse them and neglect the oil. When they do, they tend to add too much or too little, with the latter being a huge problem because of the dry sump system. Next, cylinder and ring wear due to over-revving are going to present a problem. Check to make sure the plug is fine (Google "how to do a plug chop" and do that before you buy it). Next, check the tie rod ends for play. Lastly, check for water leaks. The earlier year models are prone to water pump issues. That about sums up the common YFZ problems.
