Gravity, bad seals, and being a Harley. But I repeat myself...

That's how you know you still got any.

SINCE PRIOR ANSWER IS NOT CORRECT HERE GOES,

If the bike is leaking oil there is an obvious seal problem or mechanical failure somewhere, However to properly diagnose this we need more info, for example leaking engine oil from the oil pump area, leaking primary oil from the cover...etc etc

TO THE PRIOR PERSON ANSWERING THIS QUESTION,

BEING A HARLEY IN AND OF ITSELF DOES NOT MAKE A BIKE LEAK OIL, I HAVE 4 AND NOT 1 OF THEM LEAK OIL. HOWEVER MY Honda AND MY KAWASAKI BOTH DID WHEN I BOUGHT THEM. AND YES 2 OF MY BIKES ARE OF OLDER VINTAGE, ONE BEING A 1984 80" EVO RIGID AND ANOTHER BEING A 1977 FXR SHOVELHEAD.
