CHeck the coil located on frame just north of the engine valve outlet cover. There is an earth wire under the lower mount screw -check for tightness and also a HT connector to the plug that could need checking in case its popped out of the socket.

Something wrong with spark plugs or the wires maybe...Make sure the spark plug is connected to the power source. If so, you might want to check it and fix or replace it if somethings wrong.

no spark. or a faint spark. hold it. turn it over. if you get a big zap. then you have lots of spark. if you get a tiny jolt. then your losing power.
Take the wire off of the spark plug by pulling it straight out. Find a deep socket that will fit the spark plug and turn it counter-clockwise. Go to the motorcycle shop and show them the spark plug you took out and tell them the year, make, and model of your bike. Reverse order to put back in.
The 1979 Honda motorcycle spark plug gap is .013. Most spark plugs will come pre-gapped from the spark plug manufacturer.
