For a 2000 Yamaha V-Star 650, it is recommended to use a high-quality motorcycle engine oil with a viscosity of 10W-40. Look for oil that meets or exceeds the API (American Petroleum Institute) service classification of SG or higher. Additionally, using a motorcycle-specific oil can help ensure optimal performance and protection for the engine and transmission. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
The oil dipstick on a Yamaha Vstar 650 motorcycle is typically located on the right side of the bike, near the engine. It is usually a long, slender metal rod with a handle on top for easy removal and checking of the oil level. To access the dipstick, you may need to remove any covers or panels that are blocking it. Be sure to consult the owner's manual for specific instructions on locating and checking the oil dipstick on your Vstar 650.
