Use Kawasaki 10W30 motor oil or some good dino oil in it until you get at least 110 hours on it then you can change to synthetic. We prefer the use of 10W30 Mobil 1 synthetic or Royal Purple but ONLY after 110 hours otherwise the engine will nevr break in and the engine will burn oil.

Oil type
To check the oil level in a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja, first ensure the motorcycle is on a level surface and the engine is warm, but not hot. Locate the oil sight glass on the side of the engine; you should see the oil level through the glass. If the oil level is below the designated mark, add the appropriate type of oil until it reaches the correct level. Always check the owner’s manual for specific oil type and capacity recommendations.
The oil capacity for a Diesel engine Kawasaki Mule typically ranges from about 3 to 4 quarts, depending on the specific model. It's important to consult the owner's manual for the exact specifications, as various models may have different requirements. Always use the recommended oil type for optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
The manual says to use 10w40. 1.3 liters w/ filter change. 1.1 without.
