The Engine and frame both have a VIN on them. On all motorcycles it is stamped on the side of the steering head. On street-legal motorcycles, the VIN also appears on the Safety Certification Label affixed to, or near, the side of the steering head. The engine VIN is stamped on the case.
The VIN is on the neck of the frame
Most modern motorcycles have the VIN listed on the steering neck where the fork goes through the frame near the headlight. I have an old HD that only has the VIN listed on the side of the engine and nowhere on the frame. I also have an old Honda that has a tag riveted to the steering neck and would not take much to remove it.
The vin number on a Honda Shadow can be found on the frame and on the engine. The numbers will be etched into the metal.
The vin plate is on the tube frame either behind the front wheel or under the floorboard area on the frame.
The vin is stamped on the neck tube on the left side of the of the bike. The left side is left as sitting on the bike.
The location of a VIN on a 1999 through 2007 Honda 400EX is on the front frame. It is located just behind the front bumper.
the vin number on a Honda ATV is either on the two stickers on the front main frame next to the bumper or is more then likely engraved on the bottom left main frame bar next to your foot peg.

It is stamped on the left side of the frame, just behind the engine.

the vin stands for Vehicle Identification Number. it is what used to be called the Serial Number. on most motorcycles the vin is 17 digits and is usually stamped into the frame on the steering head in between the fork tubes. sometimes there is also a sticker elsewhere on the frame with the same number.
