on mine, the drain hose is connected to the battery tray on the left side of the bike.
( look for a hose under the battery tray, remove the hose clamp to disconnect hose and drain oil )
The 82 had the plug on the bottom of the oil tank. No plug on cases.
Check out the pictures at the following website. The drain plug is toward the rear of the bike, in front of the rear tire. http://www.harleydavidsonmaintenance.com/sportster-oil-change.html
Look for the oil line coming off the oil tank connected to the bottom of the frame.Remove clamp, pull hose off and let drain.
That plug is the drain plug for the primary and transmission oil supply.
Under the motor
The oil drain plug is at the bottom of the oil tank (for engine). Bottom rear of primary case for primary & transmission.
where is the oil plug on my 1990 park avnue
There is a rubber line that attaches to the bottom of the oil bag. Pull that line and the oil will drain
There is no transmission drain plug. Your transmission uses the same oil from the primary. Draining your primary drains your transmission.
