Because a 2 Cycle Engine burns the oil in the gas, and in a 4 cycle engine, it sits in the oil pan, and it isn't supposed to burn it at all.

How much bigger is the camshaft in a 2-cycle engine than the crankshaft?

There is no camshaft in a 2-cycle engine.

What is better 4 cycle trimmer or 2?

It all depends on you. 4 cycle trimmers do not require mixing of oil and gas. The gas that you use for your lawn mower or tractor is the same gas for your trimmer. They also provide more torque than a 2 cycle trimmer. 2 cycle trimmers require mixing of fuel and gas and are generally lighter in weight than 4 cycle trimmers.

Why can a four-cycle engine accelerate slower than a two-cyle engine?

A four-cycle engine typically has a more complex design that includes four distinct strokes (intake, compression, power, and exhaust), resulting in a power stroke every two revolutions of the crankshaft. In contrast, a two-cycle engine produces a power stroke with every crankshaft revolution, allowing it to generate power more frequently. This difference means that two-cycle engines can often accelerate faster than four-cycle engines due to their higher power-to-weight ratio and simpler mechanics, which provide more immediate power delivery. Additionally, four-cycle engines may be heavier and have more internal friction, further contributing to slower acceleration.

Does a diesel engine require more oxygen than a gasoline engine?

Yes a diesel engine requires a lot more air than a gasoline. The ratio for air to fuel in a gas engine is about 14.7:1. A diesel at idle is about 50:1 and in the higher rpms it can reach 70:1.

Why is more oil required to operate a two cycle engine than a four cycle?

Because with a two cycle engine the oil is burned with the gas mixture, while the four stroke if in good working order will consume little to no oil because it performs its purpose in a bath system. Meaning that it constantly coats the moving parts.

Why does a four cycle engine run cooler than a two cycle engine?

4 Cycle engines have a bigger block = more area to displace heat, they usually run at a slower RPM, and they only fire 1 time to every 4 strokes, and a 2 cycle fires every time the piston comes up.it have water coolent so it cool faster

Does diesel get better gas mileage than regular gasoline?

In general, yes. The diesel engine cycle utilizes much higher compression than a gas engine. And the higher the compression, the more "efficient" the engine- everything else being equal. Also, diesel has more energy (btu) per gallon that gasoline, so you win on two fronts.
